Irish Food & Drink Market
Convent Garden, 15th / 16th March 2008
Following on from the hugely successful Irish Specialty Food & Drink Market, which was held in Covent Garden, London in March 2007, I am delighted to let you know we have confirmed the same venue for March 2008.
The market is similar in style to a Farmers Market, where you have a unique opportunity to sell directly to the British consumer, gaining feedback on your offering and a little cash to boot.
The Market will take place on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th March 2008 on the Piazza of Covent Garden from 11.00 -18.00.
The Market, an integral part of London’s St Patrick’s Festival, will be heavily promoted by ourselves and the Greater London Authority including:
- Diary Dates in all National print media
- Radio interviews
- TV filming - TBC
- Posters in underground sites & bus shelter posters
- Leaflets distributed through London underground sites
- Brochures distributed via The Irish Post, Irish public houses and on the day
Last year’s products ranged from farmhouse cheese, Irish beef stew, oysters, smoked salmon and preserves to name but a few. There have been some issues in the past regarding the sale of alcohol at this market it has been decided not to sell any alcohol at the market this year.
Covent Garden Market has been bought by a company called Capital and Counties (Capco) who have stipulated that all producers attending the market will have to provide them with a full company profile and details of what products you will be sampling and selling on stand which will have to be passed by the new management at Capco in advance.
Trade and media will be sent details of participants early in February – to be included in this campaign I will need a commitment from you regarding participation asap. Please also forward a brief company profile and update on company activities (new products, market launches, endorsements etc) that I can use to brief trade/media.
Security is of utmost importance again this year, and Westminster Council has requested that we give details of participating companies as soon as possible. I would urge you to complete the booking form immediately and return it to me on or before
Thursday, 24th January.
Please feel free to call me should you have any queries regarding the market. Stalls will be allocated on a first come first serve basis so please return forms at your earliest convenience.
Kind regards,
